Guess who got another free trial of Netflix?
After signing up for yet another free month of Netflix, I decided to compete in another exciting Netflix challenge. For those new to the site the premise is easy. You try and watch as many movies as you can before the trial is up. Last time I succeeded in crushing my bet with friends of watching at least 40 movies. In fact I watched 97, which isn't necessarily something to brag about. But I did get a Blu Ray copy of Pitch Perfect out of it.
However, the last time I competed I was working roughly 40-45 hours a week (3am-12pm) so I had plenty of time to watch movies when I was done with work. Also it was winter (in Iowa) and I didn't want to go outside anyway. This time it's going to be a little bit harder because I'm working 55-80 hours a week and its summer. Who wants to sit inside on a beautiful day watching shitty Foreign films involving zombies. Well, it doesn't sound too bad I guess.
Anyways, what I'm trying to get at is it's going to be a lot more difficult this time around (plus I have to watch Arrested Development, does that count?). When discussing what would be the number to watch this month a few different options came up. 120. 65. But the one that really caught my attention was 253.
Are you kidding me? No one has time for that.
But apparently one man does.
Mark Malkoff.
Mark Malkoff is a comedian (so his blog is probably more entertaining than mine) who was able to watch 253 movies on Netflix in one month. And although I would love to beat him and watch 254 movies, I feel like it's just not a possibility for me at this moment. But the next time I am unemployed (hopefully in the winter) then it's on. Until then I will remain jealous of his slightly embarrassing title of watching the most Netflix in one month.
So that being said, my goal for the month is going to be 65. Enjoy the nonsense of this pointless challenge.
