This one might be a little hard to sum up. The storyline jumped all over the place, but I will try my best.
The Young Man (Jeremy Theobald) is a aspiring writer that is lacking inspiration. He starts following strangers, not because he's creepy, but because he is interested in figuring out their characters. Most of the time he goes unnoticed, but one day Cobb (Alex Haw) confronts the young man. He demands to know why he is being followed and after a strange conversation, decides to show the young man what he does. He breaks into people's homes. At first, he just observes but later he gets into stealing from these people. When they break into a young woman's home with pictures of herself all over the place, he becomes intrigued by her. He starts following her and gets the courage to start talking to her. They become "involved". But that is just the start of this story. There are lots more twists and turns, but I don't know how to explain it without giving it away.
Being Christopher Nolan's first film, I thought he did a great job. Especially since the budget was said to be around $6000 (according to IMDB. INSANE!!). You can tell that the film was low budget, but he made it work by writing a script with minimal characters and settings (which isn't always easy to do). With the story not being in chronological order, I felt it gave you a more realistic approach to learning about these characters. You aren't going to know everything about someone right away. People have secrets and it takes awhile to learn them, and it was demonstrated in this film. Right when you thought you had someone all figured out another twist in the story would happen.
