76. Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu

It's been awhile since I watched a Bollywood film, so why not try one with one of my favorite Indian actors.

Rahul (Imran Khan) is a little uptight.  And by little I mean has a giant stick up his ass placed there by his parents that can only be removed in surgery.  They planned out his whole life and make all of his decisions for him, and he just goes along with it.  After he loses his job in Las Vegas, he decides to go to therapy.  He bumps in to Riana (Kareena Kapoor), who is almost the exact opposite of Rahul, and she thinks he was sent to spy on her by her ex-boyfriend.  She harasses him and accidentally takes his file with her.  When she reads his file, she realizes that he is just another person seeking help.  She calls him up to apologize and give him back his file and he agrees to meet her in a public place to get it back.

They decide to get a few drinks since it is Christmas Eve and when she makes fun of him for being so stiff, he decides to show her by getting shit faced drunk.  In the morning the awake to find out that they got married the night before.  They decide to get the marriage annulled but it's going to take some time for that to happen.  Also, Riana was just kicked out of her apartment because she was unable to pay the rent.  She goes back to Rahul and begs him to let her stay there until things get sorted out and being the nice guy that he is agrees to let her stay.

This is probably the shortest Bollywood musical I have ever seen.  It wasn't even two hours long (I'm not complaining, just stating a fact).  The characters seemed a little too extreme at the beginning.  Rahul doesn't even try to stand up to his parents and is just their little doll that they can dress up and use to impress people.  And even though she is just three years older in real life, it looked like Riana was waaaay older than Rahul.  I just kept thinking she is too old to be acting like this.  The ending was unique though to most movies (American and Indian).  It was also a little pathetic.
