I hope Christian schools aren't forced to watch these movies when they have substitute teachers come in.
Zachary (Chris Chatman) is the star of his christian choir club. They are competing at the regional competition along with two other choirs (I could tell it was regional based on the hand painted sign hanging above them). They are followed by Hawthorne (?). Their choir is absolutely terrible. They are all off in their timing and way off pitch, not to mention they just stand there the whole time. Later, Zachary goes home to find out that his mom lost her job and that they have to move, ironically to Hawthorne. At first he refuses to join their choir, but after awhile he realizes how much he misses it and joins up with them. Meanwhile his old choir runs into money issues and the church they perform for has to shut down. They decide, after much convincing, to team up and compete at the States (that's right, I said States) Competition for a chance to win $10,000.
Oh boy where do I even start. The first song of the movie was okay and it was all down hill from there. The competition scenes were pretty weak. The energy was low and the singing wasn't too impressive, so I guess in that case it was more realistic than shows like Glee or Pitch Perfect. Not only were their performances while singing and dancing flat, but their acting and story line was flat also. Very boring and seemed way longer than it actually was, not to mention cliche and predictable. I'm trying to think about something good to comment on but the good parts of the movie were mediocre at best.
